I am wondering if the problem is the Realtek driver for the ALC1150, or MSI's version of it. The included Cinema software only appears to alter the OFC audio jacks. So this software supports it, not sure why Tech Support thinks that the software will make the difference, when I cant even select 5.1 under the Digital Audio device output in Device Manager. I am using MPC-HC X64 software to watch movies on a Blu-Ray projector and have always had 5.1 audio using the optical out. You can get 5.1 from the audio optical output for video playback if you use a program like power DVD and the audio track is originally recorded in 5.1. the board will do 5.1 from the analog audio jacks only.
